東吳大學語言中心自九十一學年轉型為支援全校外國語文教學之行政單位後,為了推廣外語自學室各項多媒體外語學習資源,在靜態方面著手於外語自學室學習資源之重新編目整理,方便資源使用者更快速地熟悉資源並進行查詢借閱;在動態方面則規劃外語自學小組活動,甄選義務服務之自學小組長,以號召同好組成社群,鼓勵外語自學小組活動之參與者,自發自綠地以更積極主動的方式互助合作,養成持續運用外語自學室學習資源及終身學習之習慣。外語自學小組活動推行至今。進行的語言包含英、日、德語,參與者除了學生還包括了教、職員,逐步建構外語自學環境,營造了一股校內自學外語之風氣。本研究即針對東吳大學語言中心推動外語自學小組之規劃機制與逐步執行之各階段進行分析研究。
Self-access language learning activities have been a recent focus at many unversity internationally to promote students language abilities. Since 2002, Soochow University Language Center organizes self-access learning groups in order to motivate and facilitate learners to use the English, Japanese, and German language-learning resources available in the Soochow University Self-access Learning Library.
In this case stude, the writer explains how she designed and organized the self-access language groups step by step. The interaction and procedure of coordinating Language center staff, Self-access Learning Library part-time student workers, as well as self-motivated volunteer student/staff group facilitators and participants are explained and discussed.
