Self-access language learning activities have been a recent focus at many unversity internationally to promote students language abilities. Since 2002, Soochow University Language Center organizes self-access learning groups in order to motivate and facilitate learners to use the English, Japanese, and German language-learning resources available in the Soochow University Self-access Learning Library.
In this case stude, the writer explains how she designed and organized the self-access language groups step by step. The interaction and procedure of coordinating Language center staff, Self-access Learning Library part-time student workers, as well as self-motivated volunteer student/staff group facilitators and participants are explained and discussed.
