- Qualifications: Researchers who specialize in literature (including comparative literature), culture, or linguistics (including foreign language teaching and translation/interpretation) can submit their manuscripts. The Journal shall not be held liable for copyright violations. In cases of such violations, the author, not the Journal, shall bear full responsibility for all legal consequences. We expect submissions to be original and unpublished. Simultaneous submissions are not allowed.
- Content: The journal welcomes unpublished papers relevant to any aspect of Chinese, English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, or Italian literature (including comparative literature), culture, or linguistics (including foreign language teaching and translation/ interpretation). As for the feature topic, please check the Call for Papers.
- Format: All papers should be written following either the most recent MLA format (for articles on literature) or APA format (for articles on linguistics). All manuscripts should have a list of Works Cited in MLA format or list of References following the APA format. Notes, if necessary, should be written as footnotes. The Pinyin system of Romanization should be used for transcriptions of Chinese characters.
- Language used: Submissions may be written in Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, or Spanish. However, submissions for a feature topic should be written in the language specified for that particular issue. If references in languages other than that used for the manuscript are cited in the paper, such references may appear in their original language, but their translation must be provided and enclosed in parenthesis. In addition, translations of foreign names, if available, must also be included.
- Review of submissions: Submissions will undergo a two-stage double blind peer review. In the event that two external reviewers disagree, the submission will be sent to a third external reviewer. The editorial board and length of the review process will determine whether a submission will be chosen for publication and, if so, in which volume it will appear.
- Publication: After revisions have been completed, contributors should submit their final drafts in Word format, along with an electronic file of the Copyright License Agreement. Published articles may not be reprinted, translated, or excerpted without express written consent from the Journal.
- Offprints: Authors of published submissions will receive one copy of the journal issue. Offprints of articles will be available in PDF format at the FJJFL website. Fu Jen Journal of Foreign Languages is made available to libraries and research institutions in Taiwan and abroad for academic exchange. There is no cash income to be made, and thus authors will not receive any fees or royalties.
- Submission is without charge; if submissions pass the review process, the journal will provide a proofreading service to maintain the quality of the articles. Hence, contributors should pay a fee of NT$2,000 for proof-reading. If submissions were sent to a third external reviewer, the journal would inform contributors of paying a fee of NT$500 for the review process. For related inquiry, please contact the Editor-in-Chief.
