Synopsis

This paper takes the operation and research cooperation of the Research Center of Cross-culture, of the Faculty of European Languages and Cultures, of the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, as an example, explaining the possibility of combining university education and research with business needs. While training the high-level foreign language talents, we can achieve the innovative cooperation between industry, teaching and research. Through the field surveys on the traditional aesthetic standard and its influence on contemporary Chinese women, the author analyses the contemporary Chinese people's aesthetic ideas and practices from the sociological perspective. The surveys indicate that beauty isn't a simple and individual issue, it is closely linked to women's stages of life, family, and circles of friends and colleagues, and it reflects the current living situation of the Chinese women from another angle. The contemporary women keep the beauty not only for the lover, but also for the job, bosom friends and the children. The beautiful Chinese women have both pleasing appearance and high quality. The pursuit for beauty is an individual behavior, a group behavior, and even a social behavior, which is indivisibly connected with the relationship network of the Chinese and the social environment.
